Sat 3rd March 2007, 12 noon, Victoria Square (outside council house), Birmingham

There will also be a demonstration against cuts, at City Hospital on Dudley Road, on the same morning, from 10am

NHS progress is under threat!
* Sudden budget cuts threaten patients + jobs
* Rapid, top-down change has hit morale
* NHS values are threatened by the dash to the public sector

The Midlands deserves better - Make your voice heard!

Today's midlands NHS Together rally was a good success with a turn out of around 300! All the TUC unions were represented as well as the IWW, plus much public support, petitioning + leafleting, a popular Food not Bombs serving, detailed telly coverage so far with a variety of staff interviewed (+ no management or govt comeback for a change), newspaper reports expected. Seems like it was a much-needed morale booster + show of strength for staff. More in depth article to follow in the coming days, as Brum Food not Bombs have put together an info leaflet themed around Hospitals not Bombs / Healthcare not Warfare, which other groups are welcome to distribute.
