At 5am 8 Sussex University Students locked themselves to the gate and fence of EDO MBM, Brighton's very own arms dealers.
This is the third blockade of the factory since the bombing of Lebanon last Summer. It forms part of the four year campaign to shut down the factory in Brighton.
The gates were successfully shut despite violence from EDO MBM's private security, Guardian Guards (including a Yorkshire Terrier called Emily)
Activists locked on to the three gates of the factory. And also to a section of the fnce which the staff cut their way throough at the last blockade.
Police arrived half an hour later
Workers started arriving at 6am and were unable to access the factory.
Around 7am Paul Hills, EDO MBM MD arrived and ordered staff to cut a hole in the fence, this time Mr Hills had to angle grind through his own fence and climb through a bush to get in to the factory
EDO MBM staff were ushered through the hole in the fence, some stff were too fat to get through and had to wait while the management removed further fencing
A large delivery was prevented from coming in to the factory
the blockaders left sometime around midday, no arrests were made in relation to the blockade and the activists were able to take their locks home with them
