Tony Blair visits Hulme Zion centre, Manchester, to speak to young people on the radio station, set up to cover the 5th peace week for 2007. (peace week fm 106.5)


After attending a crisis sumitt in Manchester to discuss recent gun incidents in the capital and in Moss Side and Longsight, Tony Blair visited Hulme Zion centre to speak to young people on the radio station, peace week fm 106.5, set up to cover the 5th peace week 2007.

The Prime Minister was shouted at outside by angry locals. Accusing him of hippocracy in light of the guns deployed in Iraq. "guns out of hulme, guns out of iraq" they shouted. They also highlighted that the Government, whilst reducing funds for youth support in the city are more than able to fund both war and nuclear weaponry.

The scene was heavily policed of course and as he left the PM did wave at the Granada TV station satellite vans....
