Only promotes hippy news

Nothing serious about world politics is ever promoted by Indymedia uk.If you throw an egg at some remote type councillor Indymedia will promote it.But if you find and publish anything to do with the real world -nothing.Got an obscure story about someone abusing a hamster. Then why not publish it on Indymedia? And get promoted.Your a bunch of ex students.

It's quite simple

Read the editorial guidelines and you will find that indymedia was setup as a place to publish grassroots news relating to the activities of people engaged in struggle. The promoted wire is used to highlight the articles which most closely fit the remit of the site. That means that stories by and about people doing stuff themselves are promoted and stories about politicians or analysis about global issues generally are not. Cut and paste stories are generally not promoted as they are not grassroots coverage. If you think that not enough stories about big issues are being promoted then that might be because not enough people are taking grassroots action on those issues or if they are, nobody is writing about it.

oh, ps. your article will be hidden as it is non news
