Firefox google url completion "feature"

You can turn this feature off in Firefox -- in preferences, there's an option saying: "check by asking Google about each site I visit".

You should turn this off since you don't want to tell Google about every site you visit do you?

Also this isn't news so this post has been hidden.

Interesting

It doesn't work for me, and I'm using firefox (2.0.0.1). IIRC San Jose Mercury news was the paper which broke the Iran-Contra scandal, with an LA journalist's piece about the CIA flying crack into South Central (a very long time ago, admittedly)..

Could this be something to do with spooks' traffic monitoring?
