Radley Lakes: The March 17 February

Friend of Radley Lakes | 16.02.2007 18:22 | Ecology | Social Struggles | Oxford

A peaceful march to protest at the destruction of Thrupp Lake.

The Campaign to Protect Rural England has issued this. We should be there! I like the peaceful thing.

Why not relax tomorrow afternoon? Join us on a quiet protest march from Radley Station to the Lakes. It will be a two mile or so stroll to get there. Many of us then will walk through to Abingdon and get the bus back.

We start at 1.00pm at Radley Station. Those less able to walk long distances might wish to arrange to be dropped on Thrupp Lane. We expect to be near the Lakes around 2.00pm. Other may wish to join us from Abingdon. This will be a peaceful and quiet protest. Thrupp Lake is a story of tranquillity that is being lost. It is a tale of a beautiful landscape that is being destroyed. Join us and admire Thrupp Lake while you can
.
There is almost no parking at the Lakes. If you can walk, please do so. Please try to come to Radley by public transport. (Map:  http://tinyurl.com/25qppl). Further information from Andy Boddington at  campaign@cpreoxon.org.uk.
