Urgent! Ola and family kidnapped by snatch squads!

Heather Thompson | 11.02.2007 19:06 | Liverpool

Olawumi Alao and her three young children were snatched from their home in Liverpool in the early hours on Thursday 1st February. Please do all you can to help in their release.

Olawumi Alao and her three children are currently locked up in Yarl's Wood immigration removal centre (IRC) in Bedfordshire. They were taken from their home in Liverpool by snatch squads early on Thursday 1 February 2007. But for an injunction filed by her solicitor, the racist authorities would have deported her by 5 February. Ola and her youngest child, suffer from Hepatitis B, but have not been given any treatment at Yarl's Wood detention centre. They have only been able to eat bread as they can't eat pork and there is no choice in what they are fed at the prison.

What can you do?

Call Yarl's Wood on 01234 821000 and demand their release and medical treatment for Ola and her children. Don't be put off by claims, 'its not our responsibility'. Don't allow them to pass you from pillar to post. Call her local MP, Bob Wareing (0151 256 9111) and her local councillor Ann Hines (0151 225 2354; email:  ann.hines@liverpool.gov.uk) get them to demand Ola's release. Call your local MP and get them to take action against these unfair and racist practices.

Let us know what responses you get if any. Please also forward this message!

in solidarity

OK in the 70´s there were genuine cases fron Chile etc. but the last time I lived in London I was renting a room privately in what was social housing in Hackney from a ´Landlord´who had got the keys on the basis he was an ´Aslylum Seeker´ !
