Indonesia's [alleged] top counter-terrorism official [and alleged expert according to the ABC's source] says hardline Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir remains a spiritual mentor to Jemaah Islamiah militants in Poso in central Sulawesi, Indonesia.
[Bashir hard line? Or he just doesn't like the US, CIA and Australia who tried to set him up?]
The head of Indonesia's [Alleged] Counter-Terrorism Coordinating Desk, Major General Ansyaad Mbai, says supporters of the cleric continue to preach to militants in Poso and begin their sermons by a passing on good wishes for their jihad or holy war from Bashir.
[Nice propaganda anyway.]
Since 2000 conflicts between Muslims and Christians in Poso have attracted senior Jemaah Islamiah trainers.
[Without laying out any evidence of it here, of course.]
General Mbai says he has also been encouraged by other conservative Islamic leaders criticising Bashir.

The International Crisis Group's Jemaah Islamiah expert, Sidney Jones, says there is no evidence the aging cleric has any operational influence in Poso.

Anyway she now wants to clear her name by adding to the probability that she can now offer you a reliable source of information, from time to time, about alleged tried, convicted and cleared conspiracy terrorist allegations - that were made against Abu Bakir Bashir - that went horribly wrong.
The CIA and Australia made those allegations, as well, to cover up for a few false flag operations in Indonesia - to considerably strengthened the hand of the Coalition of the Killing in pursuing their War on Terror. But it's all right now? Not so fast...

So by Jones simply making a positive claim here stating the obvious - that allegations about Abu Bakir Bashir (common knowledge), have not been be proven - she seeks in my humble opinion a way to be acknowledged as a credible source by the ABC or their sources. Even though most people would have formed the very same opinion about the framing of Abu Bakir Bashir before and today's propaganda.]

But even with his alleged expertise it has only led to even more relentless and 'subsequent bombings' in Indonesia. So I suppose that's how you know you need an expert?
