Party People Protest: Polite Police Please!

diablo | 04.02.2007 16:27 | Repression | Social Struggles

Rhythms of Resistance Manchester joined up with the Belle Vue ravers and other party loving people to protest against police brutality.

The crowd was young, passionate, peaceful despite anger after police broke the laws protecting squatters rights and used excessive force against innocent people, attending the free party at Belle Vue, on the 20th January.

The protestors accompanied by the RORM band marched from Urbis to rally in Albert Square and then on to a city centre police station. "Stop Police Brutality" and "You've got to fight for your right to paaarty!!" echoed through the misty streets of Manchester.

Thanx to everyone who turned up to the protests, especially Rhythms Of Resistance Manchester. You can check out the myspace.com/skumparty blog as well, there'll be pix and vids of the protest up there too soon. Anyone who documented it, please send me your photos/footage.
Cheers again...
