Anti-Semitic attacks rose to record levels last year. The Community Security Trust reported that synagogues had been daubed with graffiti, hate mail had been received and people subjected to insults. In all, 594 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded, up by 31 per cent since 2005. It is the highest level since the trust began collating data in 1984, and 12 per cent more than the previous record in 2004
