Planestupid activists target Travel Agents

Plane Stupid | 02.02.2007 02:12 | Climate Chaos | Ecology | London

Across London, travel agents have been targeted for creative action by activists from the Planestupid network to coincide with the IPPC climate change report.

Small groups of activists spraypainted green footprints into travel agents - representing carbon footprints - and larger red footprints leaving, to highlight the extra CO2 emissions from taking a flight.

A study out yesterday (Thursday) from the Government showed that while household emissions dropped by approx 4% last year, emissions from aviation grew by 7%.

In Manchester too

In Manchester too, these footprint stencils appeared this morning all over the city centre: outside supermarkets, travel agents, flight centres and the Humvee garage that had been target of climate activists only a few weeks earlier.

McCarthyism, only stupider

Nice action - you could spray paint the footprints directly on to planes too you know.
Two Mooninite terrorists brought the whole of Boston to a standstill. With the UK as well as the US frothed up into a state of terror, why not take advantage and call in the Aqua Teen Hunger Force ? After all, somebody leaving a rucksack unattended at Edinburgh airport recently caused more flights to be cancelled and so did more good for the environment than every government initiative so far. It works in everyday life too. Next time you are in a post-office with a long queue just point to any package and shout 'That looks suspicious !'.
