Iraq for Sale
Iraq for Sale

Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers is the story of what happens to everyday Americans when corporations go to war.

Acclaimed director Robert Greenwald (Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, Outfoxed and Uncovered) takes you inside the lives of soldiers, truck drivers, widows and children who have been changed forever as a result of profiteering in the reconstruction of Iraq. Iraq for Sale uncovers the connections between private corporations making a killing in Iraq and the decision makers who allow them to do so.

Brave New Films are both funded and distributed completely outside corporate America. Over 3000 people donated to make Iraq for Sale, and it is up to you to distribute it. Give copies to co-workers and organize a screening in your neighborhood. Get involved →

What is the point of the idiotic comments on this post -- do you want people to NOT watch the film? Do you want the plunder of Iraq and the profits of the likes of KBR to be unknown?

I expect you are just idiots rather than corporate trolls, after all you seem never have heard of bittorrent, the biggest user of net bandwidth, LOL, what sad jokers.

You have failed to do any research, what about this?

Patriots against War Profiteering

Patriots Against War Profiteering is a program which enables free copies of the 'Iraq For Sale: The War Profiteers' DVD to be delivered to school, libraries, and community groups across the country as well as active military around the world.

Through the generous donations of several Patriots we have already been able to send out thousands of DVD's and we continue to send out more every day. As part of our education and outreach program we have partnered with over 100 nationwide organizations. In order to mail out as many DVD's as possible we have solicited these groups as well as our base to target the most effective distribution.

You can't make DVD's for free. Making a DVD implies making a film which takes time and equipment, or at least buying blank DVD's and paying for bandwidth. You can copy DVD's relatively cheaply though and then it is down to a matter of personal morality, whether you want to reward the artist or not.

Since BitTorrent is beyond your abilities, you can download a program called Emule Plus. Currently on that network 10 people are sharing the english version of 'Iraq for Sale'. I, for one, am going to download and watch it. If it is any good, I am going to burn off a few low-quality copies for friends and relatives and may even organise a local screening, and I'll also keep sharing it. I'd do this in the full knowledge I'd not be donating to the film-makers, and knowing my copy wouldn't be as good as the 'real thing'. I also know there are causes like Indymedia and Corporatewatch who would make better use of the $15.82 that it would cost me to get a proper copy, and that I just don't have cash to spend since I'm unemployed due to my peace activities. In fact it will cost me money to pirate it and distribute it. I also know the more the film is distributed, the more people who can afford it will buy a copy as some people just like to have 'product' in their hands. I apologise to the film-makers, if I'm ever better off and it is any good then I will buy a copy, but some issues are more important than copyright and I'd say this is fair-use.

File-sharing doesn't harm artists, it helps them.
