October’s Cry

Jamila Asleh is visiting from Palestine with the film October’s cry about the death of her 17 year old son in October.

The distributor’s website’s synopsis:
The film is a new documentary about the Arab citizens of Israel , the country's largest non- Jewish minority sector, and their struggle for justice and equal rights. A personal journey using no narration, the film follows two brave, determined women, a bereaved mother, and a rights lawyer and campaigner, from the outset of the Al-Aqsa Intifada in October 2000, when Arabs citizens of Israel rioted in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle in the Occupied Territories . The violent demonstrations inside Israel sparked a forceful police response which resulted in 13 young Arab men being killed, as well as one Jew. Hundreds were wounded.

Only through the pressure of the families, and Arab and Jewish civil rights activists, did the Israeli Government set up an official Commission of Inquiry to discover how the men were shot. Investigations lasted for over 3 years, and the troubling results of the inquiry and the aftermath sparked new anger and demands for justice. This is the backdrop for a stormy and emotional tale - which celebrates, through its tragedy, a universal story of courage and dignity.

Goebbles would be proud of you.

How do you sleep at night, promoting these lies and falsehoods. I hope one day you find the opportunity to speak with Jewish people and find a way to deal with your hatred and fear.

I will pray for you
