Sea Level and Nuclear Power by 2100

The metoffice have been asked to report on sea level height in relation to global warming and the locations of the UK nuclear power stations.The report,commissined by BE will look at predictions of sea level rise by 2100 AD.For those concerned. The the heights above sea level at present are listed below.

they're all okay, aren't they - given in addition that the prediction is for 93 years hence.

The risk is from storm surges

It's not just a rise in the mean sea level that is important. A rising sea level provides a higher base from which storm surges will come from. Since storms are also predicted to become stronger, so storm surges may well become higher.

There will also be some further research looking at the coastal erosion implications.

In any case this does seem to be a situation where the relevant information is being gathered so senseible decisions can be taken.
