pat | 25.01.2007 16:33 | Animal Liberation
On Wednesday 31st January SCROAT Cinema at the Sumac Centre is showing Jill's Film, an excellent and inspirational film that really packs an emotional punch. The film lasts about 50 minutes and includes footage of Jill, the Coventry live export campaign, Jill`s funeral, interviews with Jill`s family and footage showing the horrific reality of animal cruelty.
The film's producer, John Curtin, will present the film and lead a discussion about Jill and ongoing campaigning.

--- Memorial Day For Jill Phipps, Dover ---
On Saturday 3rd February we are going to Dover to provide catering for the Memorial Day for Jill Phipps.
There will be speeches at this rally dedicated to Jill who was tragically killed whilst protesting against calf exports. A march through Dover will follow in memory of Jill and to serve as a reminder that thousands of calves, older cattle, sheep and pigs are being exported through Dover. The destination for some is as far as Russia and Italy.
The march ends at the seafront where flowers and tributes to Jill will then be laid. This is where the Jubilee Way joins the docks roundabout. 99% of all the animals exported pass this point.
It is a long journey and timing for the rally are tight - we will have to set off from Nottm 7.30am. Call/txt 0787 086 1837 or email nar@veggies.org.uk if yo can come.
We could travel back via Coventry where the local group are holding a Jill's Day film show & social evening.
