Are Corrupt Trade Unions only in Ireland...?

Hugh Murphy | 23.01.2007 23:05 | Social Struggles | Workers' Movements

Irish Trade Unions and ICTU are covering up the corruption of the Trade Union Movement.

I believe last year that Jack O'Connor of SIPTU the largest union in Ireland had talks with the leadership of the transport union in England.

The leaders of the English Union should be aware that Jack O'Connor and his union are corrupt and covering up corruption. His union, when it was the ITGWU collaborated with the Belfast employers to sack its own members.

Furthermore it refused to inform the Belfast Dockers of the dangers of working with Asbestos and now many of them, including Arthur Rafferty are dying of Asbestosis.

I have confronted O'Connor twice and told him to his face that he's corrupt. Neither him nor MEP De Rossa will sue me because I speak the truth.

De Rossa has already take a journalist to court for defamation and was awarded £100,000.

Disbelievers in the trade unions can read about Irish Trade Union Corruption on indymedia Siptu Atgwu.ie

TUC scum

It's the same in the UK but worse - most of our unions subsidise corrupt politicians to fight immoral foriegn wars. Thier members don't complain as they have been brainwashed by the fourth estate. I toast those who refuse to affiliate.

Corrupt trade unionists

The British trade unions tolerate BNP in their ranks, so as not to cause a scene.

Trade unions represent a labour "aristocracy" who are deeply conservative and politically correct, but only squel about racism, sexism, homophobia to placate the left in their ranks.

Many trade unionists condemn agency labour and immigrants as "scabs".

Some trade unionists earn over £100,000 per year (200,000 Euro) like Serwotka, the darling the SWP.

Clearly, these scum are representatives of the working class.

Labour were the child of the unions. Like Labour the unions have been usurped from the inside out. Often people in the UK get better representation in individual disputes through pro bono employment lawyers.

The UK unions need to disaffiliate, divest and disown the NewLabour tory project and regroup under their original remit to represent the best interest of the workers. And next time round protect itself also from reactionary trots who'd call "down tools!" at the slightest whim.

Italian Trade Unions are part and parcel of the government

25.01.2007 12:24

Well that's one of the advantages of having a good strong left wing government, the unions are of course all on board. In Italy specially in the staunch left wing areas like Tuscany. Romagna and Liguria the left wing government runs the unions and for that matter the environmental organizations.
Take for example friends of the earth (Tuscany) the president is a charlatan called Sergio Gatteschi who also
happens to be President of the Tuscan Greens, (who are very off colour) and an MP on the city of Florence /Provincial government. Foe Italy spends it's time promoting Incinerators and so do most of the Italian unions
Cobas is the only one that has any semblance of decency the rest are government narks/ freemasons ..

Hi Hugh,
My Father died with asbestosis, My uncle died 6 months before him (his brother) and his 2 brother have been diagnosed with asbestosis. They all were dockers in Belfast and all were members of the ITGWU now SIPTU. we can neither get them to support nor comment on getting support for my family and other families in the same SITU -
Please go to www.justicefordockers.org and get in touch to discuss this further.

Thanks
