Food, frolics, cabaret and music to raise funds for Peace In The Park at the Blind Institute on Saturday 27th of January

Next weekend you can put a touch of festive warmth into your cold winterly hearts. Get your sparkliest glad rags on and come down to the Blind Institute on Mappin Street.

Once there you will be able to sample gastronomic delights galore in our sumptuous two course banquet and feast on a smorgasboard of visual and musical delights.

Acts for the night include a stunning jazz band with I am told one of the most amazing vocalists in town (sorry, no one has told me their name!), the down right dirty Mr. Chivrone Chicane and the finger licking good Mr. Dj Bollocks.

Oh yes my little ones, I know how to look after you!

This is a ticket only event, and all proceeds will go to ensuring i can happen in the summer.

Sounds like a good idea and a night out - for those that can afford it, but, at £8 - your'e aving a laf aintcha?
O.K. its a reasonable price to maybe MOST people these days - Most people maybe except those on benefits or Big issues.
What about the poor, smelly and skint? Is there to be NO PEACE (in the Park), for them?!

"HERE HERE" MR ANGRY PEACE IN THE PARK SHOULD BE SEEN FOR WHAT IT IS AN ELITEST MIDDLE CLASS SHIN DIG AND YES £8 IS IDIOTIC I COULD COOK A STEW FOR LESS THAN THAT WHICH WOULD LAST ME FOR 3-4 DAYS ALL NUTRICIOUS INGREDIENTS FROZEN THEN REHEATED.PEACE MEAL AT A HIGH PRICE.

I hope the meal will be vegan. If we consume animal products in a 'peace' meal then we don't really understand the meaning of the word.

There were some top quality to musicians playing at that night entirely for free. Really good. A lot of effort went into it, yes of course you could feed yourself for less, but they were only telling people about it. For chrissakes, nobody's forcing anyone to go. And yes they were serving vegan food.
