Indy media Ireland, where have you gone???

Yror Doolf | 21.01.2007 16:29 | Indymedia

I scour the internet looking for quirky pieces of information which haven't transcended to this part of the world, then when I reach for my mouse to go to my haven of safety where my news is acceptable, I find "Server Trouble". Yes it seems Indy media Ireland ist Kaputt, and in true spirit I'm writing about it over on Indy media UK!

There's not a lot really I can substantiate on, really I'm going to keep this short and punchy even though its not groundbreaking news like Jade Goody farting on television! No the Irish branch of the online news and media "centre" is in need of funds in order to continue it's quest for the publication of articles that wouldn't see the light of day on any other news outlet. What we (the public) know is little other than the Irish branch needs money, and that one should publish articles on the UK site. Can we do anything to help the lowly voice asks, any ladies and gents the truth is we can do little other than donate. So this may seem like a plea for help, as seen on T.V. I ask the people in the UK who believe so much in Indy media's struggle against tyranny of the mainstream, to help their Irish counterparts! It is in giving that we are recieving, in this case it's the giving of funds and the recieving of unadulterated news and reviews!

I hope my plea as concerned Indy media person will invigorate interest at the very least!

the techies have been working hard to get things back online.

everything is being set up on two new servers, this takes time and expertise.

Thanks to the 200,000+ visitors a month the money was, ironically, the easy part!

A new feature has been written up to explain everything and to offer a big thank you to all who made indymedia.ie's survival possible.
