Shetty linked with Indian mafia and Lewd indecenct - not as conservative as she makes ot - or maybe Indian conservatives are as hypocritical as British ones.

In May 2003 a controversy erupted over alleged links between Shetty's parents and the Indian underworld. The Surat police issued arrest warrants against her parents on charges of extortion.[38] Police Commissioner of Surat, D.K. Gupta, told the media that the owners of Praful Sarees had lodged complaints with them after claiming to receive threatening telephone calls from Mumbai-based underworld figures asking for money on behalf of the Shettys. The dispute between the two parties related to a 1998 modelling assignment where Shilpa endorsed Praful Sarees and had only been paid Rs. 50 lakhs (over $113,000) out of a contractually-agreed agreed 3 crores ($679,000).[38] Agarwal claimed that the full sum had been paid in advance, but he had no knowledge of how much had been paid to Shilpa.[39] Surendra Shetty was refused bail by a Mumbai court although bail was granted to Sunanda,[40] as she had been travelling abroad at the time the warrant was issued. The police further claimed to possess a record of a telephone call between Shilpa's parents and Pankaj Agarwal, the owner of Praful Sarees. This was denied by the parents and the tape was claimed to have been "manipulated".[41][42]

In fact, this is yet another Big Brother let's-offend-political-correctness set up. Except, they badly miscalculated. Big Brother deny racism and insist it's about class and 'catty' women. No doubt, they worked out this line before they set it all up. But given the fuss around the world, BB is looking silly.
BB probably detected racism in the women and figured they could capitalise on it. The women probably would have been more mild or dropped the anti-Indian attacks altogether, but, I reckon, Big Brother quietly encouraged it. BB calculated that there were a lot of white people of all classes who "abhor" and are "fed up" with political correctness and would cheer on the white women on. They also knew that many white people who be totally embarassed and that Asians would be seething. Good row for the ratings and they could pretend the racism wasn't their idea. They can't turn around and attack Jade and co now.
They did not know that Gordon Brown would be in India trying to make out how 'tolerant' Britain is so he can flog some useless, broken-dwon missiles, tanks and fighter jets. Doh!!!
Some people try to defend the racism on the basis that Shilpa is a stuck up so and so. She may be. But why not attack her for being a stuck up so and so? Why attack her because she's Indian and, apparently, eats with hands, as if we all don't. And the idea they would attack a posh white women by saying she was from Surrey or.attack a posh woman by attacking her Jewishness, well, need I say more?
I listened to a Radio 5 Live phone-in on Wednesday and Tuesday. On Tuesday, it was, "we shouldn't take these moaning Asians too seriously - political correctness gone mad!!" On Wednesday it was, "the loud-mouth traitor Jade is making Britain look racist around the world and messing up our trade deals, stop her!!!" But there's a lesson for us there somewhere.

The fact that Jermaine Jackson called the Goody’s “white-trash” is cited as a double standard, but they are white and trash, so he merely spoke the truth. He has not sustained a campaign of racist bullying towards any members of the BB House, unlike Jade’s gang. Now Shilpa herself is being accused of provoking their reaction by her mannerisms.
The Bollywood star’s higher caste and status is being used to justify Jade’s psychosis by alleging Jade feels Shilpa is patronising towards her working class upbringing. Rubbish! Shilpa is only conducting herself with dignity and self-respect, something Jade has no concept of. Her conduct is deplorable and her shocking speech is from the sewer.
Some of the comments about Shilpa by Jackiey, Jade, Jack and Jo have been utterly offensive and Danielle summed it up by saying, “I wish she’d F-off home.” Big Brother claims it will not tolerate intimidating behaviour between housemates, yet they have permitted this undeserved and aggressive verbal attack on Shilpa Shetty without so much as a warning.
The furore has boosted ratings in a reality show which was dying a death, Channel 4, Endemol and the sponsor can only benefit, but at what cost to the standards of decency in Britain? Jade Goody is the 24th most influential person, which is a disturbing thought and an indication of where our society is heading, the gutter. As Shilpa said, it is shameful.
