Cross contamination of DNA

Most DNA swabs taken at police stations are cross contaminated in a couple of ways. One is the officer taking it talking and saliva contaminates the swab.Another is the cap off the container for the swab being put on the desk. The desk is the main place prisoner property is put during searches, this can include combs and handkerchiefs.Which are both good primary souces for DNA..An application under information freedom has had no responce regarding this.
