PLEASE CIRCULATE WIDELY

For the fifth consecutive year a Salisbury Plain Peace Vigil will be
held on the army range at 12 noon on New Year's Eve 31 December 2006.

The 'ghost village' of Imber in Wiltshire was commandeered by the army
in World War II for training purposes with the promise that residents
could move back after the war. That never happened and now the village
is only open for a few days every year when the army are not active on
Salisbury Plain.

This year Imber range's roads will open to the public from Warminster to
Gore Cross and from Bratton to Heytesbury from 12 noon on Friday 22nd
December to 8am on Tuesday 2nd January. For information on access please
contact the MoD at Westdown Camp on 01980 674679.

PEACE VIGIL
This year's Peace Vigil will take place on Sunday 31st December at
midday when there will be a gathering for meditation and prayer. Imber
will be used as a place to build for peace rather than train for warfare
- without antagonising the army.
