VIDEO - Defending Democracy (Sack Parliament 2006)

r2r real2reel | 11.12.2006 01:05 | Indymedia | Other Press | Repression | Social Struggles | London

Another better late than never production by Real2Reel. Should have uploaded this months ago after completing it in time for distribution at the anarchist bookfare in London but forgot....

Journalists covering the Sack Parliament find that the free press isn't quite what it should in post 1984 New Labour Britain as police push their new powers to ever further excess.

Sack Parliament Defendants Solidarity

11.12.2006 12:38

Those watching this video might be interested to know that on Monday 11th December people will be gathering outside Charing Cross Police Station from 9am to show solidarity with those arrested on October 9th around parliament square.

The majority of the 38 people arrested by the police that day have been bailed to return to Charing Cross Police Station next Monday where they will discover whether they are due to be charged. They will have to attend from 9am to 5pm and people will be gathering outside the police station at 9am for a breakfast against police repression and will be present all day to show their solidarity with the accused. Apparently somebody will be providing food all day and you are encouraged to join in and show the police that we will not be intimidated by their mass arrests.

Charing Cross Police Station is on Agar Street, Nearest Tube Charing Cross.
