Public Statement on behalf of Donald Currie

Animal rights activist Don Currie was yesterday sentenced to 12 years in prison, for carrying out crimes of compassion against those who collaborate with the notorious animal torturers Huntingdon Life Sciences(HLS). Read a public statement about the case below.
PUBLIC STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF DONALD CURRIE (Reading Crown Court 7-12-06)
“Thousands of vulnerable UK citizens and millions of animals die every year at the behest of fraudulent medical research, whilst Government officials, drug companies and the media scream horror at the damage done to inanimate objects. This is shameful.
Donald Currie is an inspiration to many. He is a doting father of three children, an animal rescue worker and a volunteer for a mental health charity. He has now become a victim of today’s political deceit and corporate greed. He is just the tip of an increasingly determined and powerful movement, which is honing in on and will overcome the lies and the violence of the crumbling vivisection industry.
Far from deterring further meaningful opposition to animal testing, the politically motivated sentencing of Donald Currie will only serve to make matters worse for Huntingdon Life Sciences and others who profit from the extreme violence inflicted on innocent lives. These extreme punishments do not deter decent people from forcing change.
The vast majority of MP’s and over 80% of doctors surveyed want, and the public deserve, an inquiry into the veracity of animal research. Until such time as action is taken the ALF will continue to raise the issue.
Further comment is unnecessary as words are futile but actions are everything.”
Keith Mann, spokesperson and former ALF activist

The legal system, and it's laws and the prosecution of them, are based on the crime actually committed and not hypotheticals of a "potential murder".
This man didn't harm anyone or kill anyone, and may have only wanted a burnt out empty vehicle,as a financial warning to HLS partners. The mass media, lead by the vivisectionist BBC,have reported this story in the context they have chosen;with lots of fraudulent descriptions of "terrorist" and "extremist" to justify-in the minds of the herd population--the bloated sentence that not even rapists or violent offenders(who actually harm people) get!
If just a regular vandal, did this arson, they wouldn't of got the harsh sentence dished out;or the demonisations of "top bomber" and "terrorist".This sentence is "politically motivated" and the court's are regular enforcer of that upon animal liberation activists.Which shows, once again, that the legal system is their to sanctify, and protect, the activities of multi-national corporations who do actually maim people and kill people:and get away with it.
The above comment, and the messenger of it,should save his sentimental hysterics--and potential this and potential that-- for real murderer's:namely multinational companies who genocide over the peoples' of the world.
