Whether at local level or national level, the public are rapidly losing confidence in the corporate-controlled mainstream media as they promote their own agenda.

In the Rotten Borough of Rushmoor, as it is known locally, the local community has lost confidence in the titles put out by The News Group in Aldershot and Farnborough - Farnborough Mail, Aldershot Mail, Farnborough News, Aldershot News.

Far from having a vigorous and active Fourth Estate operating in Aldershot and Farnborough, with hacks exposing corruption at every level, we have what appears to many to be a public relations arm of the local council.

Put out a press release as Big Business or the local council, and the News Group can be relied upon to slavishly and without question, regurgitate it as news.

This is not to cast a slur on all their hacks, we have seen some good reporting. But this is rare, good reporters don't like seeing their stories spiked, don't like the prevailing mindset, and up sticks and leave.

It is for all these reasons that The Truth in Rushmoor is welcomed as a breath of fresh air.
