Anti Deportation Protest, Manchester
North West Asylum Seekers Defence Group | 28.11.2006 22:46 | Anti-racism | Migration
Approximately 30,000 immigrants and asylum seekers are locked up in detention centres and prisons in Britain every year, including over 2000 children and babies. About 400 are deported from Britain every week, including children and babies. Some say Britain is not a racist state, but facts are stubborn little things and have to be reckoned with.
Anti-racist activists from NWASDG and Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! will be holding another anti-deportation protest on Saturday 9 December from 11.30am - 1.30pm on Market Street in Manchester city centre. You are invited to attend and take an active part. Actions speak louder than words. Say no to the racist Labour government's policies of starvation, isolation, detention and deportation of refugees and asylum seekers, where it matters: on the streets.
There will also be an organising meeting for our activities after the stall at 2pm in the Basement cafe, 24 Lever Street, Manchester (near Piccadilly).
Defend all asylum seekers! No to deportations! No to British state racism!
