Student Hands Off Venezuela and Birkbeck Student Respect present the acclaimed documentary:
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
In 2002 a CIA backed coup d’etat took place in Caracas, Venezuela, with President Chávez taken away in a helicopter. Two independent Irish filmmakers happened to be inside the Presidential palace when this incredible event took place, and the result is this outstanding film.
Join us on Monday 27th November from 8.00pm in the Birkbeck SU Bar (4th floor of the main building on Malet Street) to watch this “…extraordinary opportunity to record history…”(Kevin Thomas, LA Times).
The screening will be followed by a discussion on the Bolivarian Revolution and the upcoming presidential elections in Venezuela, with speakers from Hands Off Venezuela and Respect.
Directions: Nearest tube is Russell Square or Goodge St
