Giant Jukebox entertains Swansea Shoppers
Saturday November 25
Weekend shoppers were astonished to find a giant jukebox in Castle Square in Swansea on Saturday with a live band inside. While shoppers choose a song, the band played pop tunes in various styles as people young and old danced in the shadow of Swansea Castle ruins.
Built in Tregaron by artist Joe Furlong, The ‘Dukes Box’ was in Swansea promoting Beyond TV international Video Festival held this week in the Dylan Thomas Centre.
Beyond TV festival will show a selection of international documentaries, documentaries, animations and music videos each evening until Saturday December 2 Filmmakers will travel from Croatia, the Middle East and Cameroon to attend the Swansea festival.
Hosted in the very heart of Swansea Marina, Beyond TV promises to be an entertaining week with all proceeds going to support the charity work of undercurrents.
Festival co-founder Paul O’Connor said today
“It was great fun having the Dukes Box entertaining the people of Swansea and promoting Beyond TV. People will get a chance to see films and hear viewpoints we rarely find on television. We hope people will come along and be even inspired to make their own film.”
