Victory! Deer Cull Refused Permission

NARN | 15.11.2006 19:47 | Animal Liberation | Ecology

Many of you were following the story about a deer cull planned for the Kirkstall Valley, just 5 minutes away from Leeds City Centre, after a farmer complained that deer were eating his crops.

After an urgent alert, many people rung and emailed the council who had the ultimate decision if the cull should go ahead. Today, NARN received confirmation that the cull WILL NOT be going ahead and other alternatives are going to be considered.

Another victory for the animals!

Good work guys. We will take inspiration from you here in Nottingham next time a deer cull is announced at Wollaton Park. People that say the deer population needs to be 'controlled', what utter rot when the world population stands at 6.5 billion I think we know which species is the 'pest' here and the scurge of the beautiful planet.

Keep it up, for the animals.
