Families of Servicemen Killled in Iraq Lay Wreaths at the Cenotaph

Peter Marshall | 12.11.2006 15:31 | Anti-militarism | Repression

In a moving and solemn ceremony of remembrance, members of the families of some of the 121 British soldiers killed in Iraq processed along Whitehall to the Cenotaph in London on Nov 11, 2006, and laid wreaths. They were accompanied by a number of prominent supporters of the 'Stop the War' campaign and a large group of media.

At the Cenotaph, many of those attending read lists of those killed, including some of the huge number of Iraqi dead.

After the ceremony a small group of those present went to Downing Street and handed in a letter signed by over 500 military families and veterans calling for the immediate return of British troops from Iraq.

Its all good when the troops are killing people. Its when theyre been killed that it becomes an issue.

Yet another post that proves that British lives are worth a lot more than Iraqi lives.
