Nineteen Palestinian children have been killed in the past 10 days, making November already the second deadliest month of the year for young people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, UNICEF said Friday.

The UN children's Fund said 17 have been killed in Gaza and two in the West Bank so far in November. Only July - when 40 children were killed - was worse, the agency said.

"What children and adolescents have endured the past few days will likely have a long-lasting impact," UNICEF spokesman Michael Bociurkiw said in Geneva. "They have seen family members killed and their communities destroyed.

They have been confined to their homes, in many cases without access to food, water or electricity."

Israeli artillery shells ripped through a residential neighborhood Wednesday in the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun, killing at least 18 people , including eight children.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said a "technical failure" meant the artillery hit the homes instead of an

orange grove, some 1,500 feet away, from which troops saw rockets fired seconds earlier.

Bociurkiw estimated that more than 300 children have been injured this month by Israeli attacks. For the year, he said 116 Palestinian children have been killed, compared with only 52 last year.

Arabs use the Childern in Attacks

Of course there will be a number of Arab children killed since they are often standing next to and in front of the arab gun men that shoot at Israelis. Naturally when the IDF shoots back the children will be in the way. Video has been recorded of the children being pushed into the line of fire to block the bullets intended for the arab gunmen since the arabs don't have traditional body armor. They say its okay for the children to be used this way since they will be called martyrs and get some virgins in the afterlife. In the mean time the gunmen are called heros and get paid for the violence they instigate.

the highest number of deaths happened just last week when 18 people were killed in a single IDF attack. The people were sleeping at the time. the kids weren't standing next to arab gun men at all. the IDF lack of concern for the lives of its neighbours is absolutely disgusting. 3 cheers for the refuseniks! a small number of israelis making huge sacrifices in their personal lives, and as a consequence proving that some israelis really do have hearts...

OK, a little childish, but the poster suggesting the Palestinians using the children like body army is, well, funny, or would be, if it wasn't for the fact that the IDF are murdering those children in cold blood.

It's funny the way the mind of a tyrant tries more and more to justify their oppression and murder, inventing strange situations in their mind, as the only way to explain their terrible action. Obviously, the IDF only killed so many children, because Palestinians strap them to their bodies to protect them from bullets. A layer of 2 children may just be enough to stop an IDF bullet...

It's like a rapist blaming his victim because she led him on. A violent husband justifying beating his wife, because she won't keep her mouth shut. Bullies always think of inventive excuses.

Not only is it a war crime to use human shields, it's a war crime to fire on human shields.

It's not about race, it's about political Ideology. In this case, the one which views Arabs as "beasts walking on two legs", and perpetuates a war in order to wipe Palestine off the map.

It's a statement about the growing Opposition, worldwide, to this violent, supremacist Cult, especially within the Jewish and Israeli communities, and the fact that this Ideology is on its way to the dustbin where it rightly belongs.
