Just tried posting on the Lancaster UAF site, but was informed my IP address was banned?! Think measures you've probably put in place for Watmough & co may also prevent others posting. I've not had a problem previously, and you've even used at least one of my articles.
That the case was incredibly flimsy and ill-judged was never in any doubt, but I have to say I'm quite surprised at the outcome.
From the state's perspective, it was frankly idiotic to even start this tiral, but I would have thought that a guilty verdict with a token sentence (say a conditional discharge) would have benefitted the establishment more than this.
The prison sentences some observers had been wishing for were never going to happen, and would have been a gift to the BNP anyway. Since I often find myself looking for 'hidden agendas' in this sort of situation, my first instinct is that (as Gordon Brown's comments show), the not guilty verdict will provide ammunition for some further erosion of 'free' speech.
The whole thing was a farce from start to finish, and any attempt to use the machinery of the state to attack an organisation like the BNP (despite it providing a bit of amusement along the way) does no favours to working class antifascism.
While I don't agree with Lancaster UAF's position entirely, they have a perfect right (and in this case duty) to attempt to prevent Nazi morons using their site to promote their stupid bigotted racist ideas.
(Lancaster UAF, I'm still unable to post, but no worries.)
I don't pay my state TV tax so that the state broadcaster can go round snooping at private meetings. The BNP is small and powerless. The BBC is huge, unaccountable and has senior staff appointed by the government and pumps out biased news, brain rotting down, market entertainment and other tat. The BBC is a bigger threat to democracy and freedom of speech in the UK than the BNP ever will be. At least the BNP ask for our votes, the BBC demands our money even if we never want to use its services, and is responsible for thousands of poor people getting a criminal record every month.
is that it uber nazis ? the sum total of you lot unleashing hell is a dos attack on poor old lancaster uaf ? sorry forgot you lot clobbered some church going uaf type in morley [ age 68]...very scary....must try harder glue bags, regards cog
Since when were you fucks concerned about attacking people despite their ages I can count many that were over 50 that youve attacked over the years so if someone attacked some dick that wants to join your ranks and broadcast it they should be prepared for reprisals, you go for weak targets and use threats and attack nationalists freinds and families so why should some of our supporters adopt similar tactics, and as for the Dos attacks you are not getting the full picture are you?
Lets just say we're learning to walk before we see you run...again ; ) know what i mean? Course you do you should have heard by now.
...Again we see the same arguements used by more liberal types concerning the freedom to say what one likes as they use to condemn the tactics of militant anti-fascists.
There is a fundamental difference to thinking/voicing rascist and fascist opinions and organising Fascist activity. Every person has the right to think and say what they like; nobody here would dispute that, but when voicing your opinion turns to rallying large groups in order to further a practical fascist agenda then it must be stopped.
This however does not mean relying on the state, all states are the enemy of the free person and must equally be oppossed.
What a joke! Keep on fooling yourself Nazi, it probably sounds good while you are circle-jerking with your inbred mates. In the 70's and 80's there were loads of you in Leeds, and you fucking shit it, again and again and again. Gave up the city. And you're not getting it back. All you're fit for is stabbing each other in the back, shagging each others wives, squealing to the cops, running away, and occassionally fronting up mob-handed to a few elderly liberals. The whole lot of you aren't worth a toss. Why don't you try having a street-sale or marching again? Because you're COWARDS. All you're fit for is having silly little meetings and concerts hidden away under false names. Since when did antifascists have to meet in secret? Why don't you come along to the next Antifa benefit, they're always publicly advertized well in advance, and see where it gets you? Wankers.
