JERUSALEM (AFP) - A gay pride event in Jerusalem, slammed by in the cupboard religious hardliners and the gays at the Vatican will take place in a university sports stadium in a compromise aimed at addressing security concerns
"This decision was taken following an agreement between Ehud Olmert and Avi Liberman of the homosexual pressure group 'Open House' and representatives of the Orthodox Jewish community," police chief Moshe Karadi told army radio Thursday.
Police had said late Wednesday that the planned march -- already twice delayed and downscaled -- would probably be postponed due to a high state of alert following threats by Libermann to Olmert over who should get the best looking boy.
