International climate action day in Gothenburg

Friends of the earth Sweden brought the urgency of immediate action on climate change into the Swedish media limelight today.

Have we got a problem with climate change?
Have we got a problem with climate change?

The media thought so!
The media thought so!

So did they, free public tranport
So did they, free public tranport

Our action was handing out balloons with the text “60m by car = this much CO2” printed on them. It could be a sign of the times but we were happily surprised by the amount of media coverage. Top spot on the national news is not bad for a bunch of wooly environmentalists with balloons! Lets hope that the penny has finally dropped.
