Judgement Day for the National (dis)Trust
The League's campaign urging the National Trust to abandon plans to allow the stag hunts to chase deer on their Holnicote Estate comes to a head at the National Trust AGM on Saturday 4th November.
Our Chief Executive Douglas Batchelor will be there proposing a resolution to stop this cruelty.
Takeaction:
The League is organising a peaceful demonstration outside Cheltenham racecourse where the National Trust AGM will take place. We are meeting at Cheltenham racecourse at 9am on Saturday 4th November. We would really appreciate your support so if you would like to come along please call Paivi on 0207 089 5213 at the League office.
If you haven't already signed our petition, then please visit our website and join the thousands of other signatories calling for the National Trust to close this backdoor to cruelty.
Are you Troubled by the Shoot?
The commercial shooting industry ruins the lives of thousands of people all over the UK. Whether it is a case of being forced to watch this bloody sport from your own home, having gamebirds trespass on your land, or having your children and pets terrified by the noise of gunshots, many people are troubled by their local shoot.
The League's new information leaflet 'Troubled by the Shoot?' outlines the legal rights of those affected by shooting.
Takeaction:
Is your local shoot causing you problems?
Click on our website to request a copy of 'Troubled by the Shoot?' Remember to put your full postal address.
We are collecting case studies of instances of shoots creating problems for local people and breaking the law. If you are 'Troubled by the Shoot?' and would like to share your story, please click here to email our shooting campaigner.
Make Lagos an Anti-Bullfighting City
The Dutch group Comite Anti Stierenvechten has joined the League and ANIMAL in our campaign to establish the first anti-bullfighting towns and cities in Portugal.
