Manchester No2ID Day of Resistance, Saturday 4th November 2006

After a few months travelling to nearby (and not so nearby!) towns, Manchester No2ID is returning to its home for a Saturday afternoon Day of Resistance in Manchester city centre.

As before, we'll be meeting at the Basement on Lever Street [1] at half twelve, and aiming to be in place for 1pm. This time, we'll be aiming to set up shop in St. Anne's Square, unless the weather is inclement in which case we'll fall back to Market Street, outside Boots.

From our stall, we'll be distributing flyers and leaflets to people in Manchester, informing them about the Government's ID plans, and encouraging them to get involved in opposition. We'll be collecting more signatures for our petition to Manchester City Council, and possibly conducting a poll on ID cards to demonstrate people's true feelings on
the subject.

Of course, to achieve this, we need people. If you're around in Manchester between half twelve and 4pm or so, do come along and say hi, help us hand out a few leaflets or collect some signatures. You don't need to bring anything other than a smile, and it's a great way to meet other people involved in the fight against the National Identity Register.

Hope to see you on Saturday,

Dave
