Free Shop in Guisborough, nr. Middlesbrough

Friends of Ross | 23.10.2006 13:48 | Free Spaces

This week, on Wednesday or Thursday - watch this space!, there will be a free shop in the main square of Guisborough. Pop by to pick up something for nothing, thumb your nose at the brandname shops, and use a public square for something other than spending money and carparking.

Free shops are a practical manifestation of anti-consumerism, communal recycling, gift-giving and hanging out in public spaces without spending money. This one is also being done to remember Ross McGuigan, a lad who used to live in Guisborough and got up to all kinds of shenanigans before he sadly passed away. If you live in the area, pop by and say hello, give away your old junk and walk away with whatever you fancy.

Shoplifting is permitted at the Free Shop.
