its house of representatives (repub: 15 seat majority) also senate, (repub: 2seat maj)
the "swing seats" were about 35, but are looking at about 50 at current swing
the repub "swing against the incumbent" is as crucial as the democrats that are the actual "opposition"
it affects the rest of the world - us - a lot. . . . but the fact that, as here, experts are coming out against the war, even the entire "war of errorism", as shown by the report from ALL the USAs intel depts saying that the war in iraq is creating terrorists. Serious thought put towards a phased withdrawal , "decisions in 60 days", etc . . . . even if much of the horrendous "sectarian" violence seems almost designed to keep the USA ( + UK) troops in occupation.
Sex expose s distract from the war to some extent, but the CEOs "options" gravytrain expose bubbles under - a twist of the "worldcon" type that might cause further revelations later.
Cynics expect . . . . a "beslan"- type school siege someplace in the world to occuy the screens pre-election
. . . . some UBL video, from a podium
. . . . a mysterious difference of 5 or 8 % from exit polls to computerised "actual" vote
. . . . attempts to blame china for korea, redo the coldwar, redo the russian threat
. . . . further attempts to try to pretend that a middle eastern nation is about to invade ohio, or perhaps hawaii
. . . . pre-empting all this with cynicism might save time

ps, someplace in the uk indymedia old newswires it explained the way a bunch of 1920s USA -BASED INDUSTRIALISTS GOT CONNED BY SOME EX-TSARIST SECRET POLICE -THAT HAD A REPUTATION FOR TRYING TO CONTROL CUSTOMERS - THAT THEY WERE GETTING ALLOWED INTO SOME SECRET "DYABOLICAL" SECT . . . . the word off the street is that a bunch of ex-1950s hack ex-spooks that played minor roles in the coups of iran, guatamala, etc, (amongst a lengthening list of failed scams) - are trying this again, but misusing newer tech, to use others as unwitting "cut-outs", stooges or even "bunches of people to do dirty tricks cheaper" . . . . keep your eyes open
