third world babies for adoption

dreamspirit | 16.10.2006 22:05 | Social Struggles | Sheffield

are these babies just a fashion accessory

ideally, the very rich could subsidize the very poor. What a wonderful world it would be if that happened so long as no one fell into patterns that would encourage a more covert type of neo-slavery. But celebrities love their Prada; the middle-class loves the mall and the poor are too busy trying to keep their lives together to worry about the destitute. David is a child of devastation. War, corruption, an arid climate, hunger, disease ... these are African realities. He won the lottery.

It's so far so good, that this child is saved from poverty, but the problem is, that may some people think that's a solution and this leads me to the negative points of this. First of all, I don't think it should be more easy for celebritys to adopt a child, than for everyone else. And secondly and much more significant, this is not an action aagainst poverty, at all. People may should remember, that the people living in africa are only suffering from poverty because of the capitalist system, which needs the most living in this condition, if the few wanted to keep their livestyle.

Ah and in the end, there's nothing wrong about wearing Prada, because this is not the problem, the problem is muc bigger than this.
