“An alleged al-Qaeda operative pleaded guilty in a British court Thursday to plotting to bomb the International Monetary Fund and other financial centers in Washington and New York in August 2004.

Those schemes led President Bush to authorize an orange, or high risk, security alert that sent police officers with automatic weapons into the streets to guard government and financial buildings as well as tunnels leading into Manhattan.

Dhiren Barot, 34, of north London, also pleaded guilty to planning attacks in Britain involving radiological devices known as dirty bombs and a scheme to blow up three limousines packed with gas cylinders in underground parking garages. Prosecutors said these plans were detailed on computer files seized in Pakistan…

…Officials said files containing information about the British plot were found on the computer of Mohammad Naeem Noor Khan, an alleged al-Qaeda computer expert who was arrested in Pakistan in July 2004.

Senior Pakistani intelligence officials have said that Barot met Khan in Pakistan in March 2004. They said British officials had spoken extensively to Khan about the plot involving Barot and the other Britons.”

It’s amazing to me how the mainstream media routinely fails to mention the OTHER White House intelligence leak involving Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan.
