Are you inspired by suffragettes and their struggle for the vote? Sheffield Popular Arts has researched the stories of local women and have come up with some intereting facts.
As part of the Off The Shelf festival, Sheffield Popular Arts will facilitate the following talks and workshops about suffragettes -
Tuesday 17th October 7pm at Victoria Hall, Chapel Walk £2.50/£2.00
Readings from contemporary suffragette plays and a new play 'Making Mayhem - Sheffield Suffragettes'.
Wednesday 18th October at Ecclesfield library 10.30am and Woodseats library at 2pm. A talk about local suffragettes. Free, but places must be booked.
Tuesday 24th October 7pm Victoria Hall, Chapel Walk £2.50/£2.00
Explore themes raised by new play about suffragettes through drama, improvisation and discussion. No previous acting experience needed.
Also, have a look at the display on the first floor of the central library.
