It seems pretty clear that the yellow journalism is referring to the '22' not the QUANTITY of the ingredients when using the term 'largest'. By this reckoning, its lucky they weren't found in possession of a schoolboy's chemistry set circa 1965.

Says it all really. Sad losers who have had the misfortune of having two hobbies, one of which was the spouting the old "if I ruled the rule, the 'master race' would take its rightful place" to anyone stupid enough to listen. The other hobby was kitchen chemistry, not too suprising for someone who was a dentist.

Now, of course, US history shows that some people of this background (a tiny minority) WILL go on to be a serious public problem (including acts of terror). The vast majority will not. The greatest danger of racism is NOT with individual crackpots, but with institutional racism acted out by the press and the government (as seen daily in the UK). If these arrests prove not to be genuine (as implied by the press reports) they do serve the purpose of creating a template to be used to harrass muslims. The same thing happens in the US. Token raids on 'white guys' justifying massive police action against muslims in the same vein.

By the way, it is common for local press to exaggerate their stories to such an extent that people question why the story is not in the national press, and immediately turn to conspiracy as a answer. The national press knows it would be a laughing stock if it talked about anything other than the QUANTITY (ie., weight) of 'bomb making' chemicals. However, the local press has NO REPUTATION to maintain, so feels free to play word games with the number "22".

When real evidence is not gathered (when the circumstances would make this all too easy), it is because real evidence DOES NOT EXIST.

Undercover TV expose shows illustrate how easy it is to get the bad guys to hang themselves. But somehow, magically, you are supposed to believe that the same methods are not available to the police, when they are investigating crimes serious enough to bring near unlimited budgets?

POLICE STATES NEVER EVER SEEK TO COLLECT PROPER EVIDENCE. You are fooled into cheering this when the targets (as with racist scum like in this case) are your enemies. BLAIR INSISTS THAT YOU DROP YOUR STANDARDS, AND ALLOW THE SAME TO BE TRUE FOR HIM AND HIS THUGS. This is the whole basis of the world famous "First they came for X and I did nothing" speech. The early 'x's, of course, are groups in society that you so disapprove of, that you don't care about the state abuse of power used to take them down. But as the state is empowered to abuse more and more, in the end no system of law or justice exists to protect YOU.
