Rossport Solidarity Day of Action in London and Nationwide, Wednesday 11th Call

Shell do not understand NO, and when they don't accept no for an answer, the Garda (Irish police) are at their disposal.
If you followed the Shell to sea campaign, you've probably know by now, the picket has been broken with brutal force by the police, leading to several severe injuries.
There is a vast majority opposition to Shell's Corrib project in county Mayo, Ireland. Shell has been negotiating with the local population every week, for over a year, and still have not agreed to construct their gas refinery off shore, a moderate request by the locals considering all the other implications that their lives will have by this monstrosity, even if the refinery will be built off shore.
There is virtually no financial benefit to Ireland form this project, and there will be many detrimental effects on wildlife and local fisheries.
Shell are hell-bent on building the refinery on shore at Bllinaboy, probably because they want to expand on the development later, to extract resources from other sites, in what appears to be a massive development project in this wonderful landscape.
check out http://www.corribsos.com/ or http://www.indymedia.ie for more information.
This is a call out for a day of action in London to show Shell the opposition for this project goes farther than the shores of Ireland. picket, leaflet protest, Graffiti and vandalise every Shell property across the county, and in London in particular, there will be a picket at the Shell International head office : Shell Centre York Rd, London, SE1 7PG
from 15:00 onwards.
there will be a mass phone in to Shell's offices in demand for the refinery to be built off shore.
You can call Shell International: 020 7934 1234
Or Shell Gas : 020 7257 0100.
Random acts of vandalism across the city and direct actions.
This is where you come in, I want to have some coordinated and some spontaneous acts in solidarity, If you are an aspired young vandal, go to your local Shell petrol station, or even better go from one petrol station to the next and let off some creative aggression (if you do that, please make sure to leave a “Shell to Sea” mark, so they know what it is all about), if you can organise a picket at a different shell office or the Irish embassy, email me and I will try to coordinate this, or post some comments with your actions here. if you can invite your student society, union, friends, affiliation group, political group or anyone do that, if you can come out with an original action, do that, keep me posted.
Shell will not get away with this, not this time!

While the outrage and passion of the above post is well placed such tactics would at this juncture play into the hands of our enemy (as does posting calls for such on indymedia - not to mention it nothing be very good from a security point of view) by providing more ammunition for smear stories see: http://www.indymedia.ie/article/78773
Many libertarians in Britain know me through the Anarchist Federation, the Earth First! Gathering, or speaking in England last year so you can be assured this IS coming from over here, otherwise e-mail the camp at the above e-mail address.
Rather than hasty emotional responses for counter-productive and unsustainable actions, we would prefer if people used this time to build a sustained long term support campaign for a battle which is most likely to last years.
