Cambridge goes to Faslane

How you can be part of mass civil resistance against Britains Trident nuclear weapons at Faslane in Scotland.

People from across Britain and internationally have begun travelling to Faslane in Scotland, to take part in a mass civil resistance action against Britains Trident nuclear weapons at Faslane, in Scotland. Gordon Brown has pledged at least £25billion to update Trident. The aim of this non-violent direct action is for 100 people to blockade the base there, every day, for a year.

I am now organising the Faslane action for Cambridge and we have a small number of people going down on the 26th, 27th and 28th October. If anyone is available to join us on these dates, please contact me, Jill Eastland, on 078042421642, or e-mail  jilleastland@gmail.com. This will provide us with an opportunity to access transport and accomodation organised by the Eastern Region of CND, with a view to taking a larger group (aiming for the 100!) to go again in 2007. If anyone thinks they might be able to join us next year, that would be great. This is a massive undertaking, so if anyone is unable to join us, but willing to offer help with the organisation, that would also be appreciated.

We are holding a Faslane workshop/public meeting next Thursday, 12th October at 7.30pm, at Ross Street Community Centre; all welcome.
