ASBO bike workshop - fix yourself a bike
pete | 04.10.2006 03:06
A mammoth feat of bureaucracy saw the ASBO bike workshop burst into new life today, 30+ bikes, assessed, named and labelled ready to be taken on by new owners.
Now is the time to shoot your car (or just the nearest passing motorist). Come to ASBO and grab yourself an almost road-worthy bike. Perfect for riot situations, or daily trips to the allotment.
30+ bikes were dragged out of the basement today. they were inspected for what work needed to get them road-worthy. only one frame was deemed only good for scrap. the rest were given names in alphabetical order: Anabell, Beatrice, Catherine etc. / Adrian, Berty, Caradoc.
If you are interested in doing up one of these bikes to use get in touch or drop by the ASBO. We would love donations to keep the dream alive, otherwise we are happy to give them away for nothing.
I and others are happy to give advice and practical help to anyone who is daunted by the prospect of bike repair/maintenance. There are also books to borrow.
A couple of the bikes Adam set his magic hands to and finished already so if you're lazy...
DIY or die!
