Faslane 356 kicks off

Today around 60 women from Britain and beyond gathered at Faslane naval base in Scotland for the first of a series of autonomous actions over the coming months.



For the next 48 hours, women from the international Women in Black network, former Greenham women, women from Aldermaston Women's Peace Camp(aign), Braford Feministas, local Scottish women, and others, have their slot for autonomous action at the Trident nuclear sub base.

Today saw the nuts and bolts of familiarisation, legal and other workshops take place. Blockades begin tomorrow.

Thirteen women have been arrested and are being held at Clyde Bank police station overnight - they are due to appear at Dunbarton Sheriffs Court tomorrow [Tuesday 3rd Oct 06] at about 11.30. The blockaders arrested at Faslane on Monday have now been released without charge.
