UN: MOON ON A STICK????

somebody or other | 29.09.2006 16:01 | Culture | Free Spaces | Technology | World

UN LEADER IS VOTED FOR with a series of straw polls amongst the UN security council, (the few with a veto + the briefly "rotating") others, that leads to a vote - that might get a veto from the perm. members, then the "succesful" person gets the - almost certain - rubber stamp of the rest of the nations of the world.
They get a vote each. Its 2006. That isnt a joke. Thats the way they do it.

The powers that have a veto is to do with the second world war in Europe.
The "leader" thats getting voted for is to take charge of getting the blame for the mess of the world that COULD sort quite fast, but that the world is stymied from sorting out by these WEIRD, irrational structures that "experts" have got so used to they refuse to see it.
The very big nations have a single vote each. The very poor nations have a single vote each. But the amount they pay in IS related to size. It does seem that its got set up - or its flaws kept - to remain unpopular.
But when people talk about "reforming" it - they try to cut its budget.
A budget that is smaller than the budget of the New York Fire Brigade.

Top of the poll at the moment is a bloke called Moon.
All the people "in the race" so far are from ASIA. It seems that to "keep all the bits of the world happy" - the regions of the world "take turns" .
But out of the top few people in the straw polls so far, most went to, or teach at, universities in the USA.

But when people say the entire thing needs a redo - THATS "unrealistic".

It seems its a popular thing to slag it off, hence leaving the corporations, cash launderers etc with the "power"to stop things-
(-or "rig" things, using the "free-for-all" fund-the-faction-of-your-choice, own-or-influence-the-newspapers-the-dissidents-"buy" free democratic / costly, undemocratic systems that we are told to think is natural.)- -
- - but meaning that people are pushing at a shutting door even when they all pretty much agree about what needs to happen.

Its worth looking at the past of the "UN", even the "League of Nations", again - but, this time, look out for the "infowar", remember what rackets do nicely out of its "failures", what scams go unchallenged when it is weak.
Requestion your reactions, too.

The world DOES need this sort of "Uniting Peoples" sensible organising.
If we are very stupid we might put that off to wait for "after" the next big war, global tragedy, etc. . . . when the chance to do it goes. The chance to STOP THE STUPIDITY is IN ADVANCE.
ITS WORTH TAKING THE TIME TO DISCOVER THE BACKGROUND.
also check ". . . .to remember : does that help? " in the old "newswires" here.-
