Calling on Support for Concert for Climate Action

Bradley Day | 27.09.2006 15:48 | Ecology | Oxford

A local anti-climate change group in Wantage, Oxfordshire, is organising a big concert for climate action on the 2nd of December. It takes place in a tried and tested venue and is set to pull in hundreds of locals. The group aims to inspire them with our message about the need to tackle climate change. But we need support!

The Little Green People (Wantage's first Anti-climate change group) are holding a Concert for Climate Action on December the 2nd this year At King Alfred's East Site (the local school famed for previous big concerts). The concert is set to pull in many hundreds of young and old music fanatics, giving us a great opportunity to gain a captive audience to raise awareness about climate change.

However, Wantage is not known for its Climate Change activism and we are only a small group. Therefore we are calling on Climate Speakers to come forward and speak at our event. We only want people to do a quick ten minute speech and make it as fun and attention grabbing as possible. In addition to speakers we would also welcome other services -people doing climate related theatre, etc.

Whatever your talent please contact me and help us grab this crucial opportunity to raise awareness in our community. It is vital that activism doesn't remain in the large cities, but extends to the towns as well.
