24 hour vigil and sit-in protest action

Start 12:00pm Tuesday, 26th September 2006

Roseberry Avenue, London, EC1
(In front of Amnesty International building)

The protest action is being organised to draw public and media attention to the widespread arrest of over 100 journalists, trade unionists and human rights workers in Turkey. The new repressive attacks against democratic rights that began with the arrests on the 21st September is continuing against all progressive press and democratic mass formations in Turkey.
This protest action is being organised by a collective of Turkish and British human rights activists living in Britain in order protest against state terror in Turkey and to uphold all democratic rights and freedoms of the people.
We invite all progressive, democratic and freedom loving organisations and individuals to join us voicing their protest against the attacks on freedom of speech, the right to organise and assembly and to defend the just struggle of the oppressed peoples in Turkey.
Please participate in this protest action and visit us during the 24 hour vigil and sit-in protest action in front of the offices of Amnesty International, Roseberry Avenue, London, EC1.
