There have been 3 response to war and vioence in the history of the Christian Church...

1) Pacifism - the ethics and praxis of Jesus and the church for the first 300 years (still pursued by the anarcho-christians such as Catholic Worker communities in the U.S., Bruderhof, Quakers).
2) The Just War theory (a relativst ethic that was developed by Augustine, which is presently tha mainstream teaching, (it was developed after yje Roman Emperor Constantine legalised and patronised the church attempting to make it decorative to empire.
3) The Crusdade mentality (indiscriminate "Christ and No Quarter" killing, Hiroshima etc) the theology and praxis of Bush and the Christian Right.

Another bunch of Christian anarcho pacifists presently before the courts for resisting the ear on Iraq. This time in the Australian outback. Their trial kicks off Oct 3rd.

On the M&S bag, when you buy your clothes at car boots, they come in all sorts of bags, and when you reuse them it just means you're recycling. It's odd that you should comment on this when it seems the bigger story with this picture is how the mainstream media ignores the Christian anti-war activists.

What happens after this latest 'anti-war' demo?

24.09.2006 20:20

Planning to have another demo?

I can see nothing wrong with that. Only that these demos will not affect the warmongers, criminals, warriors and crusaders.

Do you remember how many people have demonstrated against the so-called war?

I say so-called war because e it is not a war in Iraq. It is an attack and an occupation on and of Iraq.

Same with Afghanistan.

The only ways to stop this is by accepting that the whole thing has been racist and Crusading.

say it out loud and then you may have some effect.

otherwise, only photos and a good outing.

The people of Afghanistan and Iraq don’t have that luxury.

A Muslim name that Indymedia racists are bent on hiding!
