'Failed' Asylum Seeker's Suicide Note: 'I Can't Go Back. I'd Rather Die'

Migrant Descendent | 21.09.2006 14:03 | Migration | Liverpool

Ethiopian engineer Abiy Abebe was found hanged in Liverpool just hours after his application was rejected. At his inquest yesterday, the sickening nature of the UK asylum system was laid bare as Abiy's suicide note was read out to the court.

In his letter, Mr Abebe writes of his fear at returning to his old workplace after they found out he had been trying to get into Britain.

Why didn't he just go back and get killed? why hang himself?? If you are going to die, than why die here like a coward? He might well have lived..... This article is sad, but it has no substance.

whats the point of a comment like that? Who are you to tell people where they should or should not die? Your comment clearly lacks substance.
